History of KeyTech
KeyTech, a Bermuda registered company, was formed in 1998 as a diversified telecommunications holding company. In Bermuda, KeyTech purchased Logic Communications Ltd. from Millennium International Ltd. that same year and, one year later, in 1999 acquired all the shares of The Bermuda Telephone Company Limited.
In 2002, BTC Mobility Limited (Mobility) was granted a Class B Wireless Network License by the Bermuda Minister of Telecommunications and Mobility thereafter began operations as a separate subsidiary of KeyTech providing cellular services to Bermuda. In June of that same year, the Bermuda Telephone Directory was brought under the KeyTech umbrella and commenced operations as the Bermuda Yellow Pages Limited.
BTC Mobility was later rebranded M3 Wireless and in 2011 merged with Cellular One to form CellOne, Bermuda’s largest provider of cellular services.
In 2004 WestTel was formed as a joint venture between KeyTech and WestStarTV in the Cayman Islands. In 2010, KeyTech purchased 100% of the shares of WestTel Limited and rebranded the business as Logic which offers residential triple play services and corporate data services over its fiber network that is being deployed island wide. In 2014 KeyTech purchased all of the shares of WestStar TV through its subsidiary WestTel, solidifying its position in the Cayman telecommunications market.
Today CellOne and Quo Vadis are all affiliates of KeyTech Limited representing the best that both Bermuda and Cayman have to offer in telecommunications infrastructure and knowhow.
