The unique cover series for the 2008/2009 Bermuda Telephone Directory has enabled Bermuda Yellow Pages to draw year-round attention to four of the organizations and charities they support.

Age Concern

Through collaboration and coordination with Government, charities and the business community, Age Concern works to ensure that all of Bermuda’s senior citizens receive the seamless integration of high quality, affordable services needed to live a healthy and productive life. Bermuda Yellow Pages is a major sponsor of the Age Concern Directory found both within the Bermuda Telephone Directory and on their website – www.bermudayp.com.

SPCA

The Bermuda Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was founded in 1921. The goal of the SPCA is to provide effective, lawful means for the prevention of cruelty to animals, to promote the education of the general public on the care and well being of all animals and to encourage and promote kindness to animals. Bermuda Yellow Pages supports the SPCA by creating a monthly video that details highlights animals that are currently up for adoption. The video can be found on www.bermudayp.com.

Youth Sailing

In both 2006 and 2007 Bermuda Yellow Pages sponsored the sail training of two young Bermudians. Sail training, like training for other sports, teaches teamwork and discipline. It also teaches a myriad of skills that are particularly handy in Bermuda. Above all, sail training instills a love and respect for the sea.

Famous For 15 Minutes

Famous For 15 Minutes is a unique theatrical production in which island residents compete in a script writing competition with a twist – your play cannot be longer than 15 minutes. Six of these submissions are showcased during a one-week run at Daylesford Theatre and from these finalists a winner is selected. The competition provides encouragement and support for writers and in a few short years has carved a truly distinctive niche in Bermuda’s lively theatre scene. Proceeds of the annual production are used fund a university scholarship in theatre arts. Bermuda Yellow Pages has been a sponsor of Famous For Fifteen Minutes since 2005.
